The method behind the madness....

I don't have room to keep EVERYTHING, ALL items I have posted photos for are FOR SALE, unless otherwise noted. Feel free to make me an offer or drop me an email. Most of them I have some sort of pricing idea for and some I need to do a little more research.

Monday

Just Another Manic Monday.

The weekend was busy busy, it was busy and the weather was nice (and hot) so I didn't want to spend it stuck in the basement sorting through tractors. Saturday we went to the Harleys and Hot rods event at the Cedar Falls Raceway and were accompanied by our friends Bill and Alyson. It is an annual event that is sponsored by the local Harley shop and majority of the proceeds go to the local Make A Wish foundation. People from all over come and they either ride their Harleys or drive their hot rods.  We happen to have one of each, but we took the hot rod. See below....(Charger and Harley are not for sale.)

Chad was up until 1:00 AM getting the Charger all shined up. This Sunday we are also participating in a local cruise in town. It's always fun to see all of the old cars.

I did make some headway later on Sunday night going through the tractors. I did find the John Deere Napkins that go with the John Deere Napkin Dispenser in case I left anyone in suspense. I'm also slowly making some progress on the store. I'm very slowly adding inventory. It doesn't help that all my photos are too large and I have had to open them all and downsize them so I can upload them. WHAT A PAIN!

I did find a couple of interesting ones. They are the FoxFire Farm Edition. They come with the tractor, but then the neat part is that they have porcelain pieces that come with them. The photos below is one of the ones that I have (my guy isn't missing an arm though). If he had his arm, his hand is molded to fit right around the steering wheel.
I found another one that has a tractor and wagon. It has the man that drives the tractor then it also comes with a porcelain block of corn with a little dog in it to fit in the wagon. It is brand new and still in the box and I didn't want to fight with it to get it back into the Styrofoam in order to take a picture. The name of it is "Late Harvest" and you may be able to find it online.

Wednesday

Wednesday's Wacky Finds!

I got home from work today and decided to tackle some the toy tractor collection. I want to get an inventory of them all and by doing this I need a photo and a description of each one, time and patience is the key on this one. My first task was to clean off one of the shelving units to make room for the ones I have documented. I started one by one taking photos and jotting down information about each Ertl toy. Before long my our basement is going to look like the Ertl shipping warehouse. I proceeded to do this only until my camera battery started blinking, apparently it had had enough for the evening too.

I was proud of my progress this evening. Until now. I ONLY made it through NINETEEN! Good thing I'm not on strict deadline. However, it is interesting to learn that some of them are worth more than I had ever originally thought.

This one here is anywhere between $165 and $200, who would have guessed it.

I made some progress on the e-store today too. I've hashed out many of details and am for the most part ready to post my inventory. Maybe a few more tweaks to the design and figuring out shipping rates for those buyers out of the area. It may be a little while before it goes live due to amount of hours I have ahead of me working on the inventory. I'll keep you updated.

I found a couple of interesting things tonight. The first one just suddenly dropped out of one of the tractor boxes. It was this 1993 M&M watch, definitely not something you come across everyday.

The second one is this John Deere Napkin Dispenser. This thing looks like it should be in a restaurant somewhere. It's brand new and I'm pretty sure this is the ONLY time it has been out of the box.

Tuesday

Treasures for Tuesday cont....

I've posted the Treasures for Tuesdays, or the treasures thus far anyway. It depends on how ambitious I feel the rest of the evening. I did come across a couple interesting pieces that I'm trying to decide if I want to keep them or not.

One is this Lunchtime Stein, I found one posted on ebay for about $75, the description reads Rare John Deere Ltd Edition 'Lunchtime' Lidded Beer Stein. John Deere Licensed Product. Limited Edition No. 535 of 1,000.

The one I have is 705 of 1,000. I think perhaps I need to do more research on this one before I let this one go. If anyone has more information, please let me know.

The second one is this Franklin Mint John Deere Pocket watch. I found a couple posted on ebay. One for $50 and one for about $100. I think this one is deserving of a little more research. Thinking back to the single toy auction my mom went snooping around at, if my memory serves me right, Franklin and Danbury mint items were of a little higher value.
If you are into either of those, I have SEVERAL diecast cars that I will posting, though I don't think I have hardly, if any boxes that they came in.

On to the treasures for today. First I've posted a John Deere pocket knife. There wasn't anything about it that was out of the ordinary that I was able to find. No special manufacturer or markings on it. I'm pretty sure my dad bought it just so he could add it to his collection of John Deere items. It has a couple nice tractor pictures on it and I believe it would make a nice gift.

Second, there is a SET of pocket knives. Each of them sporting a different tractor and scenery, these also come with a nice key chain. This might be a nice addition to someone's pocket knife collection.

The third item is a John Deere thermometer. Hang it anywhere to add a touch of John Deere to your home.

GOOD WOMAN WANTED: You must meet all those requirements. My dad said it was hard to find such a gal. Good luck to you!

You also see once again that I WAS NOT lying about the salt and pepper shakers. I've posted three more sets this evening. The tractor in the set with the tractor and the wagon does have a chip out of the other side. Contact me and I can send you photos.

The John Deere pocket watch as you see has a deer on the outside and the green on the inside. It does need a battery and could be shined up a bit.

Finally, you see the Harley coffee mug and wallet, neither item from the looks of it have ever been used. The wallet opens and has room for cards, ID and can hold a check book.

Not to stop there, but I have seem to have forgotten some things.
How COULD I have forgotten the kitchen canister set?

OR the timer?

OR the LAST set of salt and pepper shakers!

Someone could have a kitchen fit for a KING!

BUDWEISER SIX PACK SALT AND PEPPER SHAKERS ARE SOLD!

Coats, Coats, Coats....

My dad was a man of many coats and must have liked to stay warm OR look stylish where ever he went. Unfortunately, none of them fit me will enough for me to keep. They are all in very good condition. Take a look for yourself.

This Harley Davidson Leather jacket is in nearly new condition. It just has a tiny bit of wear. It is a men's large and also has a removable liner that zips into the inside of the coat.

This is a nylon jacket with a mesh liner, it is also in good condition. It is an XL. This would be perfect for fair weather riding. This seems like it would be an older jacket, but I haven't been able to locate anything on it. If anyone know anything about it, I'd like to know.

This Arctic Cat snow mobile coat is a men's XL. I'm not sure what year it is, I'm trying to find more details, but it is in very good condition and I don't think it was worn but more than a couple times. It has a zip out liner.

I know a few of you have seen this jacket posted online already. It's the Harley Davidson 105th Anniversary Edition leather jacket. It is a men's size large and still has the tags on it.

I wasn't lieing about the salt and pepper shakers...
